What to expect in a free therapy consultation

A free consultation is a chance to slow down, ask questions, and get a feel for whether working together might be supportive. It is not a commitment to begin therapy.

What usually happens

During the consultation, we talk about what is bringing you to therapy, what you are hoping for, and whether my approach fits what you need. You do not have to tell every detail or have everything perfectly organized.

It is also a chance to ask about fees, scheduling, virtual sessions, privacy, insurance receipts, and what therapy might look like after the consultation.

How to know if it feels right

A good fit often feels like being met with care, respect, and enough steadiness to continue the conversation. You can notice whether you feel heard and whether the therapist's approach makes sense for you.

If we both decide to move forward, we can schedule a first session. If not, the consultation can still help clarify what kind of support may be useful.
